Hi I’m Ben, one of the Coaches and Owner of BMB Fitness. I co-opened the gym way back in 2017 with Elizabeth and I’ve never looked back. My role has been constantly evolving, but currently it is to welcome and coach the new starters to the gym and help with continued growth of team BMB through coaching both our group sessions and 1-2-1s too Whilst the gym is open I’m likely here as I love this place and the community - it’s my second home.
I’m incredibly grateful to anyone who walks through the door and joins BMB and I get to help in anyway develop and help add to their day. The things that I most enjoy about coaching here is that breakthrough moment with someone, whether that be a PB, a Double Under or their first movement, such as a pullup! My own training interests are in Olympic Lifting and gymnastic movements, but any skill or fitness goal I want to get after as I love working things out, and I find it easier to learn through movement. My availability for getting after your goals is mostly daytime and evenings around my class coaching.

I started my coaching journey back in 2015 when i completed my Crossfit Level 1, this led me to opening a non profit affiliate in Cyprus. My day job is currently Rehabilitating people from injury. I have a keen interest in Olympic Lifting and enjoy breaking down the movement to make them less complex and more achievable for everyone. I have previously competed in British weightlifting and Crossfit however my heart lies in coaching and judging.I enjoy following, researching and developing my knowledge in health conditions of my clients allowing me to better program to help them achieve their goals. I am currently studying a Masters in Sport Rehabilitation at Plymouth Marjon.

I’ve always had a passion for sport and exercise, but what I didn’t realize is my passion for helping people achieve, was even bigger. Getting into fitness industry at the ripe age of 18, I’ve easily logged over 10,000+ hours of 1-2-1 and group coaching. This has given me the chance to work with some amazing people from all walks of life. And the best part is, 12 years on I’m still learning and adapting, as no single person is the same.
My passion is helping people find their way to enjoy exercise. We all lead very busy lives, so I feel my job as a coach is to integrate health and fitness in a manner that creates the path of least resistance. Simply put, I find great joy in helping build sustainable long-term habits with my clients and members of BMB, whilst they become the best version of themselves. Outside of class coaching, I spend most of my time at BMB delivering 1-2-1 sessions and I'm available throughout the day to do so. I began working in the leisure industry at 16 as a lifeguard, sparking a passion for health and fitness. After completing an apprenticeship and earning coaching qualifications, I became a fitness instructor, helping others achieve their goals. Seeking a more family-friendly role, I worked in education but began building my current business, focused on fitness and improving quality of life through movement and massage.
To expand my skills, I trained as a physiotherapist, enabling me to educate and empower individuals to manage their health and overcome barriers to staying active. Women's health & exercise is a core passion, and I strive to help women embrace physical activity to enhance their well-being. Personally, I’ve always been active, with functional fitness being the most enjoyable, albeit frustrating, sport. I coach Functional Fit classes on Mondays at 6:30 and 7:30, and I also offer personal training and physiotherapy sessions at various times.

Hi I’m Amy - one of the coaches here at BMB. I have always been involved in sports and how to train to perform at your best from a young age through sports such as netball, athletics and equestrian. Having always had a passion for the gym and strength training, I more recently fell in love with Olympic weightlifting, in which I now compete nationally.
I am all about getting you to make that lift that you never even thought was possible! I have been inspired by working with individuals and groups whose lives have been transformed through getting stronger and healthier. There is truly nothing better than helping people to succeed goals that they didn’t even know that they were capable of, and I love helping people find the passion that I have within sport and training here at BMB! I currently coach the 18:30 Functional Fit and 19.30 Empower on Wednesday evenings. Outside of classes I also coach the BMB Weightlifting Foundations seminars and I am available for 1-2-1 PT sessions too.

My fitness journey started in 2014 after finding functional fitness, which has changed my life in so many ways. Having met my husband during training and moving to Yeovil due to his job in the military, in 2022 I found BMB Fitness.
The community here has given me so much more than just a place to train. Being a mam of two, juggling a job and running a home isn’t easy, but I always find time to train and be present with the social side of things within the gym. Previously, I have come from a management background in a customer-focused sector, therefore when a General Management position became available at the beginning of 2024 I jumped at the chance. You will find me in the gym Monday - Friday most weeks. Additionally, I am easily reached via BoxMate, social media, and face to face for any enquiries you may have. Extending my knowledge and skills is something I’m passionate about, and I have completed a course in British Weightlifting, I am looking forward to continuing my studies surrounding this.

Hello! I’m Elizabeth and you’ll see me coaching classes here at BMB. My work has been pretty varied - I started working life as an exploration geologist out in the wilds of Mongolia and Canada, loving the sense of adventure that gave me. However, I really seek those challenges in life that really align with my beliefs and passions. I shared Ben’s dream to create a gym unique to our shared values, and I am proud that we did just that with BM Barbell back in 2017.
I always say the reason I started coaching was more for the mental and emotional benefits you get, and this was my own experience. Yes, you'll totally get fit and strong along the way, but it's that deep *knowing* that there's more there for you in all aspects of life that's the magic for me, and keeps me enjoying each coaching session now as much as when I started. Although I’m now stepping into a new life as a therapist, I continue to be hugely glad and grateful to be a part of BMB Fitness.
